Due to the failure of a critical processing component, all payment methods were intermittently affected during a 4 hour window. While payments themselves should have completed successfully, the user interface would not have behaved as expected and would've provided inconsistent feedback and messaging which ultimately led to a higher than normal failure rate for payments.
